Happy Holidays....

Hey Everyone-

I know it's been awhile since I have last updated our blog but I really do think about doing it I just have to make myself sit down and do it. Okay- it's been busy around here- back in October my mom came out for couple of weeks. We had a super-great visit with her. I know that she loves seeing us and having us with in driving distance. She was able to see Michael play football and she went to Abbey's soccer game. (Good-times) It has gotten really cold here now --all of our hibachis bushes that we planted out front are all dead. Yeah, we will be planting something different come spring. For Thanksgiving Kenny's mom and step dad drove down from Kansas and we had a great time with them. It's been since Johnna's graduation since Kenny has seen his mom. It was fun showing her the house and just sight seeing down in Memphis. I also had a great 35th birthday--we went to Tuncia to gamble and I actually won!! It was great we left there with about 800 dollars so yeah we went Christmas shopping!

The kids are doing good- they both are getting so big. Michael has actually hit a growth spurt and is out growing out of all of his pants-Yeah! He will probably be taller than me come next year. Last weekend Millington had a Christmas parade and Michael was "Joseph" and rode on his school's float for Light House Christian Academy. He is doing so well in this school. Abbey is doing good she is making all B's in school and she is trying really hard to make more A's like her brother. Come January they both will be playing basketball for the YMCA and Kenny is going to Coach both of their teams which means I will probably be the assistant. (This should be fun.....) We talk to Johnna alot-she is doing good back in Hawaii (we are so jealous..... the sun.... the beach...) but we miss her so much. I wish that she could come visit us for Christmas but airline tickets have been so expensive. She moved in to a condo in Kaneohe with two other girls from work and she likes it alot. She is taking her last class for her CDA and will finish next month. She is going to continue school and work on her Associates--Go Johnna!
We are just about ready for Christmas-it's going to be quiet around here just us. We are thinking about going to the Movies on Christmas day to see that movie "Marley and Me"--that dog is just like our little ms. mia! Well, things here are good but we miss everyone -family and all of our friends. I hope that you all have a very blessed Christmas and a wonderful new year. (Scroll all the way down I added more pics!)

Fall is coming upon us........

Hey Everyone-

I hope that you all are well. We have been busy here in Tennessee. We survived our first "HOT" summer here and now it's finally starting to cool down. Believe it or not - I am actually looking forwarded to the weather change. (I am sure I will have a change of heart when December comes...Cold.) The kids have started back to school and I started a new job. Abbey is loving her new Fourth grade teacher Ms. Mitchell. I think this is going to be a great school year for her. They have been learning how to take notes and to be alittle more independent. Her best friend Presliegh is not in her class this year but they are right across the hall from each other. Abbey started soccer last month- her team name is the "Holy Terrors". (Does that fit her or what? Too funny!) She had her first game today the score was 4-1 we lost but Abbey had fun and that's what counts. Go Abbers! You are a soccer star just like your big sister.

Michael started the 6th grade this year and he is going to Lighthouse Christian Academy--he loves it! The class ratio's are small and all his teachers are awesome. This was the best choice for him because the Middle school that's in our district is horrible and had way too many problems. Michael has always loved school and we sure don't want this to stop. I can't believe he is in the 6th grade. He's getting so big.... He also started playing fall football. His first game was today too, he played corner back on the defense. Tackle football is alot different that flag ball. Check him out! His team name is the "Millington Trojans"--- Go BIG #88.

We are looking forwarded to my Mom coming out next month for a week. She has some friends in Texas who are driving up to Pennsylvania and they offered to drop my mom off here in Memphis since they will be traveling right through our town. I also have a couple of days in October as well so it's going to be a good visit. Johnna is still living the good life in "Hawaii". She is still teaching the three yr. olds at Pali View Baptist Preschool and only has one more class left on her CDA. She has been talking about joining the Air Force Reserves this up coming summer. It will help her to continue her education and give her alittle more money which is always helpful. She can take the summer off at her job so that she can do boot camp and training. We are so proud of you-Girl! Our friends Matt and Sara gave birth to baby "Miles" about three weeks ago. Sara's water broke two weeks early and out he came. Congratulations - you both will make awesome parents! I can honestly say that parenthood is filled with lots of love, joy, happiness, tears and sometimes frustration but it's the best job that we all will ever have.

It's been awhile.......

Hey Everyone--

First of all I am the worst blogger ever! It's been forever since I have updated this ----Sorry. Well, things have sure been busy but now that I have a new job, where I don't work 45 hours a week hopefully I will keep this up better. I am now working with Evergreen Playschool as an "two-year old" teacher. I am very excited to be back in the classroom --that is where my heart is. My work schedule is so much better and I get lots of time off around the Holidays so I am super happy. Everyone here is doing well. We had to make our first trip to the emergency room last weekend. Abagail got her first set of stitches thanks to her big brother . Michael was out back messing around with his new "driver" (golf club) and Abbeys face just happen to get in the way. It was an accident and of course, Micheal felt terrible about it. She was a very brave girl -- she didn't even cry at all. She's a strong one. She kept asking me if Michael was going to get in trouble because she knows it was just an accident. He was worried about her and she was worried about him--too sweet!

We finally made our first road trip this month. We went to "Texas" for the 4th of July. It was nice spending a holiday with family and seeing everyone. The kids went down to Texas for a couple of weeks at the end of June and spent time with my Dad and Brenda and then with my Mom. They sure had a great time but Kenny and I sure were missing them. (The house was way quite.......) So, what did Kenny and I do without the kids..... we went to the movies, we played in a pool tournment, and we went down to Tunica to go gambling. We won $150. 00 that went to our "new fence fund" for the house. We started a fence last month and did alot of landscaping out front so the house is looking great!

The kids start back to school on August 11th. Michael will be going into the 6th grade so he is starting middle school. We were going to put him in a private school but it was very expensive. We did put in a Transfer letter to the school board requesting that he goes to Millington Middle so hopefully, this will all work out. The middle school that he is suppose to go to sits right on the county line and they bus kids from "Memphis City" to this school. No Way!!!! I might be homeschooling if Michael doesnt get accepted but I am hoping it will work out. Abbey will still go to Lucy Elementary which is a great school and she will start the 4th grade. Tackle football practice starts this week and of course Michael is way excited. Go Millington Trojans...... Abbey hasn't starting anything yet she can't make up her mind what she would like to do. (Maybe soccer, gymnastics, or cheerleading well see.) She did get a drum set at the beginning of the summer and she can ROCK OUT! I need to find her some lessons soon. Check her video out below.....
Kenny is busy working and he has started back into playing Golf---Yeah! It keeps him happy so that's important. I really need to find me a hobby or a recreational anything-just something! Well, I promise to update again sometime in the future.. I hope you all are doing well, and we miss all of our friends back in Hawaii. Take care!

We finally made it.....

Hi family and friends-

First, I would like to say sorry for not updating this since Christmas time---it's been really crazy. Well, yes we are finally here in Millington, TN. The first words that come to mind are COLD, COLD, COLD! It sure is alot different than Hawaii but we are getting use to things. We had about three inches of snow the beginning of March and poor Hannah didn't like it one bit. We would say "Hannah let's go out and go potty", and she would just start shaking all over. (Poor girl.....) We have to get her a doggie coat to keep her nice and warm. What a cultural shock for everyone. We do miss all of our friends and Johnna Bona back in Hawaii---Aloha guys!

We love our new home and we are all unpacked and settled in. Michael's got the upstairs gameroom for his room and he thinks that's so cool because the big TV is upstairs in his room. Abbey is down stairs with us but on the other end of the house. We painted her room a really cool- High School Musical Theme! It's alot of pink and purple with all kinds of stars- it's really cool. The kids are loving thier new school Lucy Elementary -they get to pick from three choices of what they want to eat for lunch everyday. (They just think that's wonderful.) Michael's teacher is Mr. Mickinez and he is really enjoying his class- he's a great teacher. Abbey is doing good too, her teacher is really nice and she is making new friends. Her first priority was to race all the boys in her class to see who she could beat. (Got to love her......)www.SCSK12.org/SCS/elementary/lucy/default.htm

We have a new addition to our family---it's a puppy! I know what were we thinking!!! She is a cutie though. Her name is Mia and she is a yellow lab (we love her......) now Hannah on the other hand does not know what to think of her just yet- but I hope after some time they will become the best of friends. We had to leave our cat "Roxy" back in Hawaii with our good friends Robin and Jeff. So I guess to make it up to the kids we though a puppy would be a good idea-yeah right! (What a Sucker....)

Kenny has been very busy with his new job but he is really enjoying it and of course we are happy that he will be around alot more now that he is not flying. He is also so close to the house- I think it takes him five minutes to get to back and forth from work. I have also started back to work as well. I am the new assistant director for Bright Ideas Preschool and Enrichment Center in Bartlett. It's about 16 miles from the house so it's not to far. It's a whole lot different than teaching but I like the Director that I work with her husband is retired Navy so we have alot in common. The down side of this job is that I worked 45 hours this week. (blah, I have never been so tired in my life.) I do enjoy it alot and my family is being very supportive so that is a big plus.

Johnna is doing good back in Hawaii---We miss her greatly but she is doing her thing and we think that's GREAT. She finished her first CDA class and now is taking her second.

Take care-
